You are looking for a fun and confidence-boosting photo shoot experience in which you feel beautiful, seen and heard in a comfortable and safe environment. You are worthy of this experience.
You are looking to celebrate you! (The best reason of all). Isn’t it time, finally? You are enough as you are right NOW, no matter your age, weight or any other of the insecurities brought on by societal pressures.
You are looking for that perfect gift for a loved one. You will exist in pictures for years to come, and you can share these photos proudly with your loved ones as well, all the way down to your grandchildren in future years. What will they find of you when you are gone? Nothing? You in the corner of a group picture? Or beautiful, vibrant portraits of you as you are right now? Create a legacy.
Wonderful Morrison
Me: I’m not ready for a photoshoot. I gained an unwanted 20 pounds during Covid. Let’s wait a couple of months so that I can shed the weight.
Jean: You are BEAUTIFUL NOW. I would love to capture the woman you are right now. TRUST me, weight is not going to be a problem or any other thing that’s floating around in your mind about how you look.
Convo as I walk into the photoshoot:
Me: Ok so, I didn’t buy new clothes. With that being said, if you want to get pics of my jacket buttomned up THAT’S NOT HAPPENING (remember the weight gain).
Jean: HAHA, no worries, I got you - (hands me a mimosa)
Convo in the middle of the photoshoot:
Jean: Wonderful, move your arms like this (demonstrates her arms lifting above her head)
Me: OOHHHH I don’t think so! This jacket is so tight, I might rip it if I move!!!
WE BOTH BURST INTO LAUGHTER
What magic she made of a challenging subject - THANK YOU, Jean for your talent, your studio and the FUN!

Personal branding is for the entrepreneur who wants to use their pictures to attract clients and have images which help explain their message and personality. Women’s portraiture features a woman’s authentic beauty and personality without any attachment to a business. Sometimes we add a beautiful dress at the end of our branding session to include a few pictures for more personal usage, if desired. Either type of shoot is designed to bring out your most beautiful self, just for different purposes.

Yes, I have a few professional hair and makeup artists that I contract with. I only use the most experienced and bests artists around. Getting your makeup done is almost a given, seeing how it uplevels your images and makes for less editing in the end. Most of my clients go with a more natural look, some never even wear makeup in their day to day lives, but are happy that they chose to use a professional when they see the finished images.
-
This is a very common concern I hear. No, you shouldn’t wait! I am experienced to pose you in such a way as to compliment your body type and if people wait for the weight loss they will never get those pictures done. You need your pictures now, come as you are. You won’t be sorry to have those pictures in years to come.
-
You will receive a Welcome Letter which gives you a timeline of what to do before your photoshoot session. Please come to your session with a clean face and hair, fresh manicure or just nice nails, and steam or press all of your clothes.
-
Along with your Welcome Letter, I will send you a document of tips for choosing your photoshoot wardrobe. We can also zoom or text so that you can show me different outfits you are considering bringing to the photoshoot. Most people bring along several options to the photoshoot, then we choose from these. I also have contracted with a few different stylists in the past which will give your images that extra sparkle and a pulled together, branded or glamour look. We typically use 3 - 5 outfits.
-
Hair and makeup tends to take approximately one and a half hours, then the photoshoot itself varies from 2 to 2.5 hours, depending on number of outfits used. It’s best to leave the whole day free of commitments to be able to relax and not worry about time constraints. Except for going out afterwards, as you will look gorgeous!
-
I edit for skin tone, blemishes and a few lines, but I keep those laugh lines and eye corners. You will look Ike the best version of yourself, yet still you, not plastic.
-
You can reschedule with approximately 48 hours notice one time with no extra fees. If you need to schedule a third time, there will be a fee of $150 (except in case of illness).
-
After your photoshoot, you will typically receive a large gallery of images within one week or less. After you’ve chosen your images for purchase, I will take a week or two to edit them, depending on the number of images chosen. Print products will take an additional 4 - 6 weeks after that.

If doing personal branding, we will use my branding workbook which we will go over to draw out your message and target audience in order to tailor your photoshoot towards your specific goals and clients.

Photoshoot session (2 hours average, depending on number of outfits used)
Images are priced separately and packages start at $850.

I believe in the importance of printing out your beautiful images. Having something tangible, that you can pull out and look at to remind you of your gorgeous and empowered self, plus pass on to future generations or special people in your life. Keeping your pictures locked up in your computer, where they can get lost, hidden or technology can move on and you lose your data, just isn’t optimal.
If ordering under 20 images, you can choose to have each images printed out in either 5x7 or 7x10 format, matted and placed in a box. Perfect for displaying on a shelf using a picture stand, rotating the pictures in and out.
If ordering 20 or more images, you will receive an customized photo album.
-
Yes, I keep your gallery of images indefinitely.

I've been thinking about these gorgeous photos of you, trying to unlock what it is about them that is so striking. Because it's not as simple as "beautiful," which you know me well enough to know is a concept that holds little meaning to me without some active verbs and intent behind it. It's rare that I like staged photos of people, I always prefer the verb shots, people doing. But there's something unique about your way of BEING that drips with intent, and that comes through even in these staged shots, which is really rare and remarkable. Like, I have no problem picturing you walking down the street looking exactly like this, which would, I guess, mean some sort of levitation, in odd contrast to how absolutely grounded you are in the ethereal. All of which is an overly complicated way of saying that these photos really do capture an essence of you, if not in a bottle, in a sort of looking glass that is reflective of so much more. Which is exactly like you.

I happen to be one of the most notoriously non-photogenic people on the face of the planet, so I feel rather strongly compelled to extend my deep and very heartfelt gratitude to Jean for her artist's eye and lens that successfully coaxed a genuine smile long enough to capture the true essence of my inner light shining through to the surface. At the end of our photo shoot, there were many beautiful images to choose from which made it quite difficult for me to decide on a single favorite! Honestly, I've never had that type of problem before. It is wonderfully refreshing to be able to look at a picture of myself and feel delighted by what I see. Two thumbs up!

I needed new professional photos and found Kercheval Photography online. I knew I was in the right place as soon as I spoke with Jean who offered recommendations to help me prepare and coordinated with a wonderful professional makeup artist, Nikki. The day of the photoshoot was relaxing and fun. I received an AMAZING gallery of photographs and couldn’t be happier with the entire experience! Thank you Jean!

QLC was a passion project stemming from curiosity. Do the young millennials of today fit the commonly held belief of being entitled, lazy “snowflakes”? Or is there something more behind this accusation?
