You are Beautiful

You are Unique • You are Worthy • You are Beautiful •

Hi, I’m Jean!

I love providing women with an empowering photoshoot experience and beautiful imagery for either their business/branding or personal use.

You’re in the right place if…

  • You are a female entrepreneur and need your online presence and personal branding to match your unique and beautiful personality.

  • You are looking for a fun and confidence-boosting photo shoot experience in which you feel beautiful, seen and heard in a comfortable and safe environment. You are worthy of this experience.

  • You are looking to celebrate you! (The best reason of all). Isn’t it time, finally? You are enough as you are right NOW, no matter your age, weight or any other of the insecurities brought on by societal pressures.

  • You are looking for that perfect gift for a loved one. You will exist in pictures for years to come, and you can share these photos proudly with your loved ones as well, all the way down to your grandchildren in future years. What will they find of you when you are gone? Nothing? You in the corner of a group picture? Or beautiful, vibrant portraits of you as you are right now? Create a legacy.

Wonderful Morrison

Me: I’m not ready for a photoshoot. I gained an unwanted 20 pounds during Covid. Let’s wait a couple of months so that I can shed the weight.

Jean: You are BEAUTIFUL NOW. I would love to capture the woman you are right now. TRUST me, weight is not going to be a problem or any other thing that’s floating around in your mind about how you look.

Convo as I walk into the photoshoot:

Me: Ok so, I didn’t buy new clothes. With that being said, if you want to get pics of my jacket buttomned up THAT’S NOT HAPPENING (remember the weight gain).

Jean: HAHA, no worries, I got you - (hands me a mimosa)

Convo in the middle of the photoshoot:

Jean: Wonderful, move your arms like this (demonstrates her arms lifting above her head)

Me: OOHHHH I don’t think so! This jacket is so tight, I might rip it if I move!!!

WE BOTH BURST INTO LAUGHTER

What magic she made of a challenging subject - THANK YOU, Jean for your talent, your studio and the FUN!

Kind Words…

I've been thinking about these gorgeous photos of you, trying to unlock what it is about them that is so striking. Because it's not as simple as "beautiful," which you know me well enough to know is a concept that holds little meaning to me without some active verbs and intent behind it. It's rare that I like staged photos of people, I always prefer the verb shots, people doing. But there's something unique about your way of BEING that drips with intent, and that comes through even in these staged shots, which is really rare and remarkable. Like, I have no problem picturing you walking down the street looking exactly like this, which would, I guess, mean some sort of levitation, in odd contrast to how absolutely grounded you are in the ethereal. All of which is an overly complicated way of saying that these photos really do capture an essence of you, if not in a bottle, in a sort of looking glass that is reflective of so much more. Which is exactly like you.

I happen to be one of the most notoriously non-photogenic people on the face of the planet, so I feel rather strongly compelled to extend my deep and very heartfelt gratitude to Jean for her artist's eye and lens that successfully coaxed a genuine smile long enough to capture the true essence of my inner light shining through to the surface. At the end of our photo shoot, there were many beautiful images to choose from which made it quite difficult for me to decide on a single favorite! Honestly, I've never had that type of problem before. It is wonderfully refreshing to be able to look at a picture of myself and feel delighted by what I see. Two thumbs up!

I needed new professional photos and found Kercheval Photography online. I knew I was in the right place as soon as I spoke with Jean who offered recommendations to help me prepare and coordinated with a wonderful professional makeup artist, Nikki. The day of the photoshoot was relaxing and fun. I received an AMAZING gallery of photographs and couldn’t be happier with the entire experience! Thank you Jean!

Quarter Life Crisis Project

QLC was a passion project stemming from curiosity. Do the young millennials of today fit the commonly held belief of being entitled, lazy “snowflakes”? Or is there something more behind this accusation?

“I had some photos taken by an amazing professional photographer, Jean, at Kercheval Photography the other day and the results blew me away. I saw myself, but I didn’t recognize myself. The woman in the photograph looked like someone in a magazine. Like someone who was important, who knew things, who had power and prestige and magnetism. Damn, I wanted to be that woman…Holy shit, I am that woman, but I’m not really that woman - yet. Somehow Jean was able to capture my aspiration - the woman I’m taking steps towards becoming every single day.

If you’re in the Seattle area (or willing to travel for a fantastic photographer and experience), please check out Kercheval Photography for your personal branding and/or women’s portraiture….She really does provide a beautiful experience in addition to the great photos.”
